Lost Pilot Script.

The writers reveal the characters by the way they talk by giving them a certain type of vocabulary. The main character Jack is seen as a very well educated person because of his knowledge and leadership skills during the chaos after the plane crash. Kate is shown as a shy woman who doesn't really trust others but will after she is given enough information. For example, when Jack asks her to help him she frowns upon her abilities at first and says she can't but eventually gets over it and helps him. Hurley looks like a young carefree guy who is not very educated and likes to help others. Boone seems like he wants to satisfy others and just be acknowledged. The difference between Jack and Hurley would be that Jack is well educated, fit, and a leader while Hurley is out of shape, not very smart and he abides by whatever he is told to do.

Concept 23 question # 3

The type of story I want to write about is a suspenseful one in which the audience is left with a question to ponder and an agonizing 7 day wait before the conflict from the last episode is resolved. The main objective of the character will be to find happiness but he doesn't know how to achieve that so he'll try a lot of different things. Some things will lead him to encounter more problems and others will lead him to have a lot of conflicts.

Desperate Housewives Pilot

Susan, lynette, bree, and Gabrielle were the main characters. Gabrielle was introduced in a restaurant being proposed to, and lynette has 3 kids who are very troublesome.

I think that the central conflict is the death of the narrator, Mary Alice. I think that the characters and the audience both want to know why she committed suicide.

All of the characters talk slightly different just because they live very different lives from one another. I think that the writing is simple and easy to understand.

Concept 22 question #3

My story would most-likely be character driven because my character will be the one driving the story forward. His thoughts will lead him to make the decisions he makes and that will lead him to change the world he lives in. He will have a lot o internal problems and those problems will be put to different tests throughout the series.

Pilot refection.

Some of the qualities that make my main character unique would be that he is a gambler, likes to look into weird things, and he is malleable in the sense that he is able to adapt to whatever situation he is in. He doesn't really care for too many people because of events that will unfold throughout the series. He has a dramatic change and decides to chase after something that is almost out of his reach and he is willing to leave those closest to him to do it.

My so called life blog

The show My so called life was a rather old show. I plan on writing my show in present times(2011). I liked how the characters were different from those in Freaks and Geeks in the sense that there was more diversity among the leading roles. I will try to include diversity in my show by getting characters from different races which in turn will make my show more appealing. Our show will not be centered around desperate girl who is trying to get some guy to notice and like her(or vice versa). It will include some romance for those who enjoy that but it show a more pessimistic view of life.

Concept 20

In the film that I plan to write I will include a little bit of everything that is happening from the nerds to the jocks or from the rockers to the shy kids. Some areas that I'll mention would be the piercings, types of clothing that different parents deem exceptional, and the type of language that is used. This would not only be an interesting show for people who can relate to it, but it will also be interesting to others that are curious to know what kind of lives the people around them live in.

GHS Television show.

Some cliches that I wouldn't want to see in Gundersons Tv show would be the Jocks, Cheerleaders that compete for popularity and the mean teachers.  If I were to make a television show my premise would be conflict between parents and teenagers and how that has a pronounced effect on the students performance at school. The show would probably focus on a group of friends and every week one of the friends would be the protagonist. It would show their perspective and how they overcome their difficulties. There parents will range from rich and corrupt to drug addicts. A lot of people will be able to relate to the struggles that they face in their everyday lives.

Concept 19 question # 2

If I were to choose only one character from the previous page to tell the story I would use the girl Bonnie. She would be the best candidate because she has been asked by both of the boys so she has all of the knowledge. I would have the setting be her on the swing with a flower. She would be taking a petal of the flower and calling both names one after the other. She decides that the last one she calls before all the petals are gone will be the one she takes to the dance.

Concept 18 question # 1

If I were to write about the picture depicted above I would write a story about discrimination. The story would take place in the early 1960's when schools were beginning to become "mixed" and blacks and whites could go to the same school. I would have the little girl be the protagonist and she is struggling to fit in her new school with all the racism. I would have the other people in the picture be her body guards that don't let anyone insult her or make physical contact with her.

Concept 16 question 1

A fictitious character that I feel I can relate to would be Naruto from the show Naruto.
List of similarities:
1) Smart
2)Determined
3)Ambitious
4)Funny
5)Impatient
6)Both like Ramen
7)Both are always Hyper
8)Good-Hearted
9)Competitive
10)Positive Attitude
11)Friendly

Concept 15 question # 1

1)The theme of the movie Mr. Smith goes to Washington is good versus evil.

2) The theme of the movie Robots is pursuing great things in life.

3) The theme of The wizard of Oz is the importance of being home with your loved ones.

Concept 14- Beats For Citizen Kane

1) Kane dies after he utters the word rosebud. His whole life is told in a montage of clips that show him with Adolf Hitler, the President, His wife, and talking to a crowd of people about his newspaper.

2)Kane is taken by his Thacher who says that he will raise Kane to be a successful business man.

3) When Kane decides that he doesn't want to do what Thatcher wants and he becomes a newspaper editor.

4) He opens his own Newspaper place and even if it costs him 1 million dollars every year he says he'll keep it open.

5)Kane finds a woman who wants to become a singer and marries her. He puts all of his efforts into making her dreams of singing come true.

6) Susan can't stand being all alone all the time in the huge mansion that she lives in so she leaves Kane.

7) Kane has everything he has absolutely nothing that he wants. All Kane has now are the memories that he has when he was truly happy; the time when he lived with his parents.

Charles Foster Kane

As of what I've seen of the film so far I could say that Charles Foster Kane was a very wealthy man and he was known worldwide. In the montage that I saw Kane had divorced and remarried and he was the owner of a very successful newspaper. The last word he uttered was Rosebud.

Concept 13 question # 1

There are many choices that I wish I had taken in the past. For example when I was younger and I was given the opportunity to go study on a ship and travel to different parts of the world for a year. As of now I wish I would have made the year long voyage. If my life were a movie I doubt that my life would intersect with my current reality. If my life was a movie and I had changed that decision a few years back I would probably be going to a different school and I would have been around different people.

Favorite Freaks and Geeks.

My favorite freaks and geeks episode would have to be the party episode because it was very creative. In the episode Lindsay throws a party thinking it would go well and that Daniel will like her but at the party everything goes wrong and she ends up having a terrible time. I thought that the switching of alcohol, the people believing that they were drunk when they weren't and Bill actually getting drunk was hilarious. I really liked the part where Ken revealed at the end of the episode that he knew he wasn't drunk and won 87 dollars from people who thought they were drunk.

Freaks and Geeks questions

1) What do you think about Lindsay now?

I think that Lindsay is struggling a lot with her identity. She is having trouble finding out where she belongs and in turn she is hurting her loved ones.

What are the major plots of the Halloween episode?
I think that the major plots of the movie were the mother giving cookies, Sam going trick or treating, and Lindsay hanging out with her friends.

How do they all come together at the end?
In the end of the story everyone is sad because they had a bad day. They all had high expectations of Halloween but nothing went as they planned.

Blog # 5 Script revision

In my script the Protagonist buddy says a lot of things that he doesn't have to say and just makes the script longer and it is unnecessary. He talks about the chocolate too often and about what e is going to do to get it and what to do after he gets it. I think that I can cut some stuff out of his dialogue and replace the space in another scene where I  have a person that only has 3 lines. I also have the part where the king tells buddy that there is a "Magical" chocolate arriving and that it could help him out because buddy could find that out on his own. This will keep the readers thinking of what buddy could do for his revenge instead of knowing everything from the beginning.

Freaks and Geeks Script Chang

Continued: 4

   Alan
You're dead weird kid, and your sister too!

Alan and his buddies start to chase Lindsay and her brother Sam. Lindsay believes that they are bluffing until Alan throws a punch at Lindsay and just misses by an inch. Lindsay and Sam start running.

Bill
Do you think Sam and Lindsay will be alright? Alive? Should we go help?

Neil
I don't think that they will die but they won't be alright
I'm not going over to get beat up.

Bill
Alright then lets get out of here while we still can
they might come back and get us too!

On their backs as they run away together

Concept 8 questions 1 and 3

If Reese Witherspoon and Orland Bloom were the only people in a movie scene then they would be at home sitting on the couch waiting for the football game to start. They are arguing over whether to watch the football game in 1080p or in 720p  when their unattended food bursts into flames. They don't realize that their house is burning down until the fire is right behind them and they have to make a dramatic escape from their home or be killed in the house fire.

The lonely mad scientist was reading a newspaper and he saw a section about a man that had 24 eyes and 7 noses. The newspaper article said that the person was being buried in Montgomery Cemetery. He waited until late that night when everyone was asleep and then took off on his skateboard to the Graveyard to get there sooner because he didn't want to be noticed. When he got to the tomb stone he took his notebook out to write a few observations about the mysterious person. When he opened the casket he was surprised because the body was not there.

Blog # 2 Best scene + Concept 7

My best scene would have to be my second scene because it was action packed. The second scene is also where most of the story unfolded and it was much more detailed than the other scenes. My worst scene would have to be my third scene because it was too short. In that third scene is when the hero finally resolves his conflict and for that scene I only used about half of a page. There is a character that is both introduced in that scene and then they vanish. I think that I could improve my script by adding more detail to it. Even the protagonist is somewhat mysterious because I didn't really describe whether or not he had malicious intentions. I would improve my script by adding more complex dialogue so that the reader will be able to grasp what is happening throughout the script.

                                             Concept # 7
1) A single day- Drake and Josh

2) A week- Pan's Labyrinth

3) Several Months- Cast Away

4) Ten or more years- Forest Gump

In Cast Away aging is shown through the man. In the movie he starts off with little facial hair and in later scenes he is shown with a big beard to show long periods of time have passed.

Forest Gump shows the passing of time by having the protagonist start off as a little boy and then later in the scenes show an adult character playing his role to show aging.

                             Question # 2
If my movie is only 5 minutes long in "Reel" time the percentage of real time that will be depicted will be 0.35%.
Three favorite High school television shows:

1) Secret Life of the American Teenager.
2) If you really Knew me

3) Fish Hooks
The reason I chose these three television shows is because they show how high school is like from different perspectives. With Fish Hooks the show is more comedic while still addressing the same universal high school topics. With the Secret Life of the American Teenager and If you Really Knew me it shows more of individual struggles of certain people that face while they are in high school. Even though these cases can at times be more extreme people can still relate to them to an extent.
