Concept 100!!!

Dear Christina,

I have to admit that I really liked your concept book. It was filled with a lot of helpful information. I can safely say that if I never read your book I would be writing 3rd grade scripts for a long time. The book showed me to think outside the box and make my stories unique. It made me realize that screenwriting it more than something you do for money, its fun! Not only has the book taught me to write better scripts, it has also taught me to be a more professional and courteous person. This book has really made a significant impact on me by challenging me to continuously develop new ideas and listen to others ideas to create the most successful scripts possible. Thank you for showing your concepts in this book.

                                  Sincerely,
                                                 Angel

concept 94 q.3

Dear Amy,

You must follow the correct format for your sript or there will be serious consequences!. First off, if the director or the person who is buying your script has trouble reading it they are not going to buy it. They need you to make it simple and in correct format so that they can understand it quickly. If there are grammar or punctuation errors the buyer will think that your script is bad and or wont even bother reading it. If you have a clean script that is error free then the will see you as a smart person and will like it more. If the format is wrong the buyer might see the story differently than you and may see a different story than what you wanted them to see. Take all of this into account before submitting your script!

                                          Sincerely,

                                                           Angel

Concept 92 Q.

The film genres that I gravitate to the most would be horror and thriller films because those films keep you on the edge of your seat at all times. I guess these genres reflect my personality and my approach toward life because I am an adventurous individual. I take risks and don't usually think of the consequences until it is too late and I am stuck somewhere that is scary or uncomfortable for me.

Concept 90 Q.2

I watched a music video about a love song and through the visuals I got a lot of information. I saw that the boy was missing the girl and the girl was missing the boy. The boy was walking to the girls house, but she wasn't there. He didn't know that she was dead and kept looking for him. She was by his side, but he couldn't see her because she was a ghost.

Concept 89 Q.1

Anime, my favorite cartoon ( Naruto) is an anime! From what I've seen in American television shows I'd say that Naruto is a more well developed show than the American cartoons. Cartoons like Family guy and American Dad are an embarrassment to the Americans in my opinion. They have no moral values and only serve to make people laugh. Unlike American cartoons, Naruto actually portrays the hardships that a lot of different people face at times and has a lot of moral values.

Concept 88 Q.1

I think that the most prominent problem at Gunderson High School is the food. In the cafeteria there are multiple recipes for obesity. When you get your pizza there is enough grease on the pizza to fill a 150 ml cup. The way I would go about making a documentary about this would be by following some kids and talking to them about their choices of food in the cafeteria and why they choose what they do. After that I would get a senior who hasn't ever  consumed a school lunch and a senior who relies on school lunches. I would ask them some questions and see who is healthier.

Concept 87 q.3

Out of a pirate explorer and an archeologist I'd choose the explorer to go on a quest. Unlike the pirate which would only be on a ship and on the open water the explorer can be anywhere. The archeologist can only be on land so that eliminates 71% of the world that he can be traveling. I would have my explorer be on a quest to catch 2 animals of every species on the planet so that I can have them reproduce and create a larger population. This would be a life long quest and my explorer would be eager to take  the challenge.

Concept 86 Q.1

I'd have to say that Inception was the most suspenseful movie that I've seen. It just keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the movie because of the mind boggling puzzles and the ambiguity in there. I think that no one really knows what is happening throughout the film because every action can be interpreted in various ways. In the movie the protagonist has to implant a thought into another persons mind to save a company and then he can go back to the united states and see his children.  He flees the country at first because the police think that he killed his wife when in reality the wife committed suicide. What keeps me guessing is the transitions from dream state to reality. We never really know whether he is dreaming or he is awake.

Concept 85 Q. 2

I think that it is better to have loved and lost rather than to have never loved because all humans need some love. If you never had a love then I think that your life has been wasted and that person has accomplished nothing. Ever since the beginning of time people had love for one another. It's just something that all humans must go through to really experience life. If you have loved someone and lost them then you'll see how much it means and you'll at least have experienced it for sometime.

Concept #84 Q.3

The scariest movie that I've ever seen would have to be It by Stephen King. That movie terrified me because of the random moments in which the clown popped up. I'd never suspect him to pop up in some scenes and he would which would scare me. Also, the clown in general was terrifying because I've always  been scared of clowns. When I was 4 years old I was going to get a balloon from a clown at the fair.  When I reached out to take the Balloon in the shape of a dog the clown grabbed my arm and lifted me into the air. He showed me his sharp teeth and made me cry. That encounter with a real life clown made the movie that much more horrific.

concept #83 Q. 3

If one of the characters in my movie had the ability to travel through time they'd have a harder time living without modern conveniences rather than possessing knowledge on future events/ technologies and not knowing how it works. The reason for this would be that my character would be a very germaphobic person. They will need the hand sanitizer, baby wipes, ovens, bathrooms, and other technologies that are easy to use and keep you clean. If they were in the future they would like it better because they will learn how to use the equipment and will be more comfortable in that time period.

concept 82 q.3

If I had the opportunity to interview Buffalo Bill Cody and ask him 10 questions I would probably use his answers to make a movie about a retired person who used to be renowned worldwide. That is because the information that I'm going to be getting is from a well known actor that is retired. His answers will make up the perfect character. I can show how such a famous person deals with their daily life after they are retired because we never really do know what happens to them. They just fall off the face off of the earth? I would ask Buffalo Bill Cody about his daily activities and struggles to make the movie accurate. I might ask him about his favorite scenes so that I can put him in those situations to keep the people at the edge of their seats.

concept # 81 Q. 3

Joseph, a lonely old man was on the verge of committing suicide. He was standing on top of a 500 foot building and decided to take the leap. While he was falling a black hole opened up right under him and ate him up. The black hole then spat him out in a new world. In this world everyone had 7 hands and their head was where a normal humans stomach would be. To adapt to the new society which he was eager to be apart of he made an apparatus that allowed him to control seven hands with his two hands. At first he was ostracized, but after a while he began to blend in and was accepted.

concept 80 #2

The saddest thing that I've ever experienced in my life would have to be the time when my dog (Chico) was run over by a truck right in front of my eyes. This was a very tragic event and I never saw it coming. I thought that my dog was going to live for at least 7 more years. He was only 2 years old when he was killed and it made me realize that I shouldn't be taking things for granted everyday. I should acknowledge the people around me more often for doing the things they do for me.

concept 79 # 1

1) Animal House
2) Groundhog day
3)Shaun of the dead
4) Ferris Buellers day off
5) The jerk
6)Mr. Deeds
7) Young frankenstein
8)Monty python and the holy grail
9) Ghostbusters
10)Mrs. Doubtfire

All of these movies are absolutely hilarious because they all have good actors who do foolish things that we would never do and have funny facial expressions.

concept 78 #3

If the audience knew nothing about my story before they came in to watch it they would probably have t wait 3 seconds to find out what it is about. The first scene would be the main character running away from the cops with a bag of money in his car. The audience would immediately know that it was an action thriller and would be on the edge of their seat throughout the rest of the movie.

concept 77 #1

In my opinion the most expensive elements would have to be the cars, actors and explosions. Everything else will not cost very much given that it will take place in the dessert and will only be around 50 minutes long. The actors are most definitely critical to the success of the story because without them there would be no story. The cars are a must because there will be a lot of chasing scenes and without them the movie would be about a couple of kids in a desert. The bomb is one of the most important parts of the movie because that is how the kids get revenge, desrtoy the evidence and wrap up the story.

Concept 76 # 2

After viewing my story cards the gaps between each red do were more or less consistent with each  other.  There was a red dot on most cards because my character is very important to the story and there is only 7 characters in the low-budget film that I am writing. There is only one part in my story cards where there isn't a red dot for about 3-4 spaces. Within those 3-4 scenes that my character does not appear I can have him drive by or appear in the background. This can give the audience something to notice and keep them on their toes.

Concept #75 Question #3

My favorite teen oriented program is Wizards of Waverly Place. I think that the show makes adults see teens as mischievous, unpredictable, and irresponsible children. Yet to the smaller children the teenagers are seen as awesome people and serve as role models to them. Worldwide the show still gives the same type of feeling to adults and children about teenagers. The genre is science fiction and comedy which already tells you that the kids are going to be doing funny things that are out of this world.

Concept 74 question #

Honestly, the way I view my world is not a sitcom, or a science experiment but a soap opera. Right now in these high school years I think that most teenagers would say the same. There is always conflict and drama in these years because teenagers have mood swings. One day they can be really happy and the next day they might want to start a fight with you. These films influence the way I want to develop a film because I would like to write a good movie about teenagers and recreate the scenarios that I've been through and seen vividly on paper. If I find myself writing something different I would still probably throw in some drama because I know it all too well.

concept 73 question #1

My favorite film hero of all time by far would have to be Flash. My favorite villain is Venom. If I were to write a plot for these two super humans I would have them be in an urban city so that flash wouldn't have an advantage over venom with his speed. I would have Venom being shown in the beginning of the movie making a virus to wipe out a large portion of the human race. Flash will just be a graduating college football player who hasn't really tapped into his full potential. They will both meet at night after Flash has uncovered his amazing power and finished his first professional football game. Venom will be covered from head to toe and will ask Flash to join him in his brilliant plan. After this they will fight on three different occasions, the last being the defeat of Venom just before he spreads his virus.

concept 71 # 1

My favorite historical figure is Abraham Lincoln because he was one of the best presidents that we've ever had. I think that his presidency would probably be the most significant thing in his life. If I was going to write a documentary about him I  would start at his birth, but if I wanted an action movie I'd start it at his presidency and the start of the civil war. I think that a movie about president Lincoln's choices throughout the war and the war itself would easily hook the audience and would be an instant hit.
In the story that I am currently writing we will see everything from the protagonists point of view. I  think that having the protagonist direct the course of the story would be best because the story really revolves around everything that is happening around him/her because he/she is at the right place at the right time. I don't think that it would work out being shown from the opposition because they always arrive at the scene after the event has occurred. It also wouldn't work for a minor character because there are few and they aren't in the most important scenes of the movie.

Concept #69 question#

If I was writing a film in say, South Africa I would have my actors watch some films that showed the people from South Africa speaking .  I would then give them a substantial amount of time to practice their wording. By the time that I call them to begin the movie I will test them to ensure that they have indeed practiced and deserve to be in the movie.  If one of my actors did not, then his/her replacement will immediately take over because I can't have people who are slackers make my movie look bad.

Concept #68 question #1

1) I don't have the money
 Bank robbery
 drug deal
 Parents telling their children
2)Can I trust you
   Robbery
   Hiding
Sending a messenger to do something important
 3) This is bad
     People taken hostage
     A house on fire
     waking up late for work
 4) That train has left the station
People on walkie-talkies trying to use code words
Some one calling someone else and telling them that they missed their train

Concept 67 # I

I feel that sitcoms perpetuate stereotypes more than TV dramas because younger people watch sitcoms and they are the ones who use stereotypes the most. Sitcoms are more popular than dramas so they get a bigger audience. Sitcoms are more funny and memorable so they really pull you in and make you want to be like the main character(s).

Concept 66 # 1

A time when something I said was misconstrued was on a test day in my science class. My teacher handed out a test and told us not to cheat or we'll get a zero. even if we made comments about cheating we will get a zero. I said " I'm going to eat" because I had a slice of cake on my table. My teacher went to my desk and ripped my test into 10 different pieces. It was not until I told her that I didn't say "I'm going to cheat" but said "I'm going to eat" that she apologized and gave me a new test.

Concept 65 #1

8 angry mob lines:

1) We want our tacos!

2) We're hungry feed us tacos!

3) This school stinks give us some tacos now!

4)We're leaving school if you don't give us any tacos!

5) Tacos, tacos, tacos! Hurry up and make some more!

6) We don't want your week old sandwiches we want tacos!

7) Give is some good food! Give us tacos!

8) Serve the tacos already!

Concept 64 # 3

In my story there will not be a  lot of long speeches from characters because that will bore the audience. One speech is a must though because the class of 2012 will be graduating and the protagonist will be the one on the podium. He will be the one that graduated on the top of his class and will deliver a speech on his experience of his 4 years of high school. This speech will sum everything up in the movie and reveal all of the missing information to finish the movie.

Concept 63 # 3

If a TV network has just hired me to develop a 60 second promo for them about nature I would have a lot of animal clips in the promo. If you're making a promo for something you have to incorporate things that are relevant to what you want to advertise. I would show some short clips of climactic scenes in which animals are doing what they do best. I would have some soft music in the promo that gets more intense it progresses.

Concept 62 # 2

The latest dream I had was about me being in forced into the military. I had to lead 1000 soldiers to safety in the middle of the battlefield where there were tanks, snipers and large turrets. I made them dig trenches and we walked in them during the night when it rained nonstop. I would incorporate this into my film because it would show my main characters strengths, weaknesses, and way of thinking.

Concept 61 #3

In the film that I want to write voice overs will be an absolute necessity. Voice overs are helpful because they let the audience get inside a character and hear their thoughts. These thoughts could be feelings toward another person or maybe a plan to get out of a place that they're or he/she is stuck in.  These voice overs help the audience understand what is going on in the story at all times. My film would not work out if it did not have any voice overs.

Concpt 60 # 3

In the film that I want to write I will establish the main characters for the audience by showing a montage of clips from them before the story takes place. These clips will be from the main characters younger years and will explain why they act they way they do in the story. The past is somewhat relevant to the plot because we understand why the character does what he/she does.

Concept 59 # 2

To mother: Mother, I am so sorry; it was an accident. You see I was just walking down the hall and someone left some spilled water on the floor which caused me to trip. It wasn't my fault, as a matter of fact I'm the one that's hurt. I need a band-aid mommy.

To bestfriend: Yo, you should of been there my football catch was too epic. My older brother threw a football at me and I was in the middle of the living room . I jumped for it and fell on the top of the lamp that my mother had since she was 10. I was fine  though and I caught the ball!

To three year old: I didn't break the lamp, it just fell from the table.

To neighbor: The lamp fell from the table. There was a small earthquake.

A minister: I happened to be walking toward the lamp because my mother had left a sandwich there for me to consume. As I approached the sandwich I didn't see the lamp connected so I tripped over the wire and the lamp fell off of the table.

Concept 58 # 1

The best fight scene was one in which the characters were fighting on the top of a very tall building that was only 2 meters in length and width. It was very intense and the characters were on the verge of death with every step that they took. The scene had a lot of action and a little bit of talking. It was, in my opinion one of the best fight scenes that I've ever seen.

Concept 57 # 3

If my character is planning to break up with his date at a fancy restaurant then he should break up with her during dessert. If I only had two pages for the whold dining scene I would have it really cliche and make it like all other break-ups in movies. The girl will hear the news, grab the remaining dessert, throw it at the protagonist and then walk out. The scene following this one would be the girls friends consoling her because she just got dumped.

Concept 56 # 2

The last movie I saw was Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius. At the start of the movie Jimmy is trying to send a satellite toaster into space while he is supposed to be getting ready for school. When he succeeds he doesn't check his messages in case an alien sent him one or his satellite was found. An alien race from the future captures all parents at night. When Jimmy finds out about this he takes all the kids to the alien planet and they fight for their parents. The fight is tough but they finally win and get home safely.

Concept 55 # 3

The motivating forces in the film I want to write are the boys want to be acknowledged by his peers and to succeed despite everything that he's been through. This young boy is from a very poor neighborhood, so poor that the boy can barely afford his school supplies and comes to school with torn clothes. He starts off high school not being as smart as everyone else because he has had to move countless times and missed a lot of school in is middle and elementary years. All the main character wants is to be acknowledged so he spends all of his years studying and working hard to be successful.
In the film that I want to write the the biggest surprise will have to be the main characters death. In my film the good guy will die after wining all of his prior matched against his opponent. The opponent finally gets another rematch and they are set to box in the ring in 6 months. Both of the characters train very hard but the protagonist trains harder. When the day of the match comes the opponent is stricken with a terrible cold and almost forfeits the match. After battling it out for 10 rounds the protagonist takes a step back and looses his balance. At this exact time the opponent lands a very devastating punch and the good guy flies out of the ring. He lands on a very hard table and his life is over.

Concept 53 # 3

In the film that I want to write the secrets that the audience will know and the characters won't will be the ancestry of the characters and how the ancestors of the protagonist and antagonist have clashed. The audience will know that the ancestors became friends after a lot of fighting and they shared a magical orb which they hid in the front lawn of the antagonists house. This information will be kept a secret until the protagonist and antagonist have to build a family tree and find out what their ancestors did and when they lived.

concept 52 # 3

The film that I want to write can not be understood by an audience if it had no sound. Sound plays an important role in film because it gives the audience a clear understanding of what is happening instead of having to interpret the then film and potentially interpreting it the wrong way. Sound also adds more emotion to the film for both the characters and the audience. If the character is talking in a sad way the audience will know because of the voice and will also be affected. The audience will be able to connect with that sad type of voice and will be affected more emotionally than with a film without sound.

Concept 51 # 2

Now that I've decided to become a superhero I will name myself super fresh bubble man. This name will relate to my superpowers because I can make super big and strong bubbles which can protect or stop people from doing harm to others. These powers will also be useful because they will  be made from pure and fresh water so that when they pop people can hold their cups in the air and get a cool drink of water when I've finished fighting the crime.

Concept 50 # 3

The front of my house is blooming with colorful flowers, the grass is healthy and the house is brightly colored.

My bedroom is full of posters, homework assignments, clothes and a lot of video games!

I am a very energetic person who loves to eat.

Concept 49 # 2

     Dear, Davis

As this average day progressed in school I was starting to get very sleepy. It wasn't until I almost passed out in the halls that I met the kid that was in our 3rd period class last year. He helped me up and gave me a drink of a mysterious liquid. I didn't hesitate to drink it because I was starving. Soon enough I got to my feet and I couldn't sit still for the rest of the day.  I met the kid after school that day and we went to the Sugar Bowl( ice cream store). My day went from really bad to awesome! We should hang out with this kid more often.

Concept 48 # 3

The amount of characters that are in the script I want to write are about 60. Most of these characters won't actually be very important to he script but they will help fill up space when the protagonist, antagonist and other main characters are in their classrooms and around school. My protagonist will be important because he will be the one that is going to be in the film for most of the time and is going to drive the story forward. The antagonist will have a similar role but will try to stop the protagonist from doing what he/she is trying to do. The protagonist will have three friends two  of which are loyal to him and one who will betray him. The antagonist will have around 4 friends and all are important because they all help him do his bidding and tell him/her information about the protagonist. So there will only be 7 characters that are actually important buth the others are needed to make the film look realistic.

Concept 47

Three films that I know of which contain foreshadowing would be: Charlottes Web, the Wizard of Oz, and Bambi. The information imparted at times did seem like a clue but nine times out of ten it was very confusing until later on in the story.  I do plan to use foreshadowing in my story to see if my viewers or readers can spot it or make an accurate guess of what is going to happen later in the story from it.

Concept 46

One day in the middle of summer when the temperatures were exceeding 100 degrees, Jack Nicholson was in his brand new Ferrari with the A/C turned up all the way.  The road was completely empty so he decided to test his new cars speed. While going over 156 mph he got a phone call. He grabbed his cell phone but it flew right out of the window. He looked back at his destroyed phone and didn't notice the spikes on the road. He tried to stop and turn but one of his wheels got caught on the spikes. He had no phone and a flat tire so he went to try and fix it. He took off the Air valve protector and began to blow on the air valve. There was no progress so he decided to pull on the tire in hopes that it might come off. He opened the back trunk and found all the materials necessary for the tire change but can not figure out what goes where and what tool does what. It's not until a big fan recognizes him that he gets the help he needs and gets his tire fixed.

Concept 45

The most unexpected thing that has ever happened to me was when I was asked for my autograph from a crowd of people. This was a while back when i was about 12 years old and i used to skate on a daily basis. I was always skating with a huge crowd of older skaters until one day I went to the skate park by myself. When I got there I was approached by most people in the skate park and they asked me for my autograph. Luckily I had taken my backpack so I had a pen. That day I signed more than 35 autographs. I felt really good that day and everyone thought that I was going to become a professional skateboarder in the future. I could've kept skating and gotten pretty far but I decided to give that dream up because a lot of my friends and family quit. I soon lost the ambition and quit.

Concept 44

If I was a super hero the person that I'd like to be my accomplice would be a person that is a little older, and more wise. This person will not go into combat with me but they will help me create tools that will help me gain an advantage over the enemy. He/she would stay in my hideout working on tool, and feeding me intel from the hideout while I'm looking for something or someone. They will also be highly skilled with the weapons that they make so that if someone was to find my hideout they'll do well to defend it or hold the enemy off until I was able to arrive.

Concept 43

A trait that I like the least in the person that I like the most would be that they worry too much about everything. They never really feel safe anywhere out of their house for a certain amount of time or past a certain time. Not only that but they aren't as out going as they could be while still being perfectly safe. They don't feel as if they have the ability to drive anywhere outside of San Jose. Honestly, I don't believe that they should worried as much as they are but, it doesn't really matter because when I'm around them I also always feel safe.

Concept 42

The lead character in my story is a somewhat shy, good-hearted person who believes in working hard and doing good deeds in his community. My lead character will not be committed for the duration of the film because he will go through some traumatic experiences that will cause him a lot of pain and an urge to get revenge
. The greatest pain he will suffer will be that one of his best friends will take the life of some of his closest family members. This will make the protagonist drop out of college and start hanging out with bad people.

Concept 41

When the protagonist of my story sends an invitational email to his mother to come to a college party without realizing it he is stuck in an awful situation. What makes this situation worse is that he has been telling his mother which he hasn't seen in over 3 years that she could come over sometime this week. The protagonist also has a date coming to the party with him also which makes him even more frustrated .His mother will not change her mind and is determined to attend the party and hang out with her son. If the protagonist attempts to revoke the invitation the relationship with his mother will be ruined forever.
